We made a day trip to one of the largest banyan trees in India. It is located outside of Bangalore, and covers about 3 acres! Banyan's send out aerial roots that look like new trees, but amazingly they are all connected and create their own fantastic forest.
Don't ask why there is a penguin trashcan near the tree. We couldn't figure it out either! Banyan trees are considered sacred in India, and often decorated with ribbons or offerings.
